Michelle & Isaiah's Wedding | Brooklyn
Michelle and Isaiah first met in high school, but life took them in different directions. They reconnected on Facebook six years later and started going to bible study together. Another six years passed until, on a rainy night, Isaiah picked Michelle up from work and surprised her with a full course meal at a five star restaurant in the city. After dinner, they went to Columbus Circle under the guise that they were to meet Isaiah’s best friend Brooklyn and Brooklyn’s girlfriend for a movie. Once Michelle and Isaiah got to Columbus Circle, Isaiah started telling Michelle how much he loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Then, while Brooklyn was secretly snapping photos, Isaiah got down on one knee and finally proposed.
Sadly, Brooklyn unexpectedly passed away the summer before Michelle and Isaiah’s wedding. I had some big, emotional shoes to fill, and I am so honored they chose me to step in for him. At their ceremony, they had a table dedicated to Brooklyn’s memory, as well as the memory of Michelle’s father.
Michelle and Isaiah’s church is a big part of their lives. They’re very much a part of the community, and you could feel that as they were married under the roof where they reconnected and fell in love. It was an emotional ceremony with a lot of sweet tears and a few laughs. The bridesmaids wore lovely gold dresses and the groomsmen wore stylish red velvet suit jackets. The flower girls took adorable to another level. They were so sweet and very expressive, especially during the ceremony.
One of the most beautiful moments of the day involved the bride's brother. After the ceremony, Isaiah shared an emotional hug with him. Isaiah finally has a brother.
After all the hugs and congratulations, Isaiah changed into a navy blue suit and Michelle donned a black dress with gold floral appliqué and floral crown. They then headed over to Naturally Delicious’ Private Dinning Room with sixteen of their closest family & friends for an intimate dinner. The whole wedding was loving and intimate. I’m so happy to have been a part of it.
