Maya & David | Sleepy Hollow Country Club
On a rainy but beautiful day in Westchester, NY, these two college sweethearts stood up in front of their many friends and family and said their I do’s. In the week leading up to their wedding, they flew out from their home in Israel, and upon landing in New York, didn’t see each other again until their nuptials a week later. They had wedding plans to finalize and time to spend with close friends and family (read: bachelor and bachelorette parties). I have shot my fair share of first looks, but when Maya and David finally saw each other after a week apart, the look on their faces, that sense of home - you love to see it. Their tension disappears, their eyes lift and they smile wide and free.
It was no wonder that these two, so wonderfully in love and swept up in the chaos that is a three hundred person wedding, hardly noticed the rain. The interior of the historic Sleepy Hollow Country Club was exactly the ambiance they wished it would be. Maya wore a beautiful, modern gown by Israeli designer Helena Kolan. Maya’s jewelry was particularly unique. David had given Maya a vintage engagement ring, but then he designed and commissioned earrings to match. Ladies: get you a man that designs and engineers your jewelry.
The day was filled with tears, traditions and a forty minute hora! This group knows how to party (and also has been doing more cardio than me). After the wedding, Maya and David flew home to Tel Aviv and to their pup, Theo, to start their new life together.
